HUG (Help Us Grow) Campaign - Workplace Expansion Project

Since 1967, the Nanaimo Child Development Centre (NCDC) has been Opening Doors by providing essential services and support to children with developmental needs and their families. Last year over 1700 children and their families received assistance at our Centre and we have recently received our 10,000th referral! Wonderful community support in our fundraising endeavours over the past few years has enabled us to decrease our waitlist from over 450 down to 245 children and the average wait time from nearly two years down to 12 months, a significant change! In an effort to decrease the waitlist even further, a workplace expansion project has begun. This expansion will see an increase of 2000 square feet with the placement of two ancillary buildings on site. The HUG (Help Us Grow) Campaign is now underway to raise the much needed funds to complete the project. With tremendous support from Variety - the Children's Charity and other generous donors, we are already half way there! - our goal is to raise the remaining $220,000 to complete the project.

HOW YOU CAN HELP!

HUG Club: $20 -tax deductible - Includes: information package about the expansion project, Bear Facts newsletter twice a year and an honorary one year NCDC membership.

Help Us Grow Apron: $25 - navy blue chef apron with white imprint - available at the Centre.

"1 g At a Time": $115.00 will "buy" one square foot of building. Donors at this level will be recognized with their name on a framed poster which will be hung in the foyer of the building.

Non-Event Event: $20 - Why would anyone buy a $20 ticket to a non-existent fundraising event? Because there are a lot of very busy people who are willing to support a good cause, but don't have the time, energy and/or interest to go to one more fundraising dinner. Purchasing a "ticket" to a "don't come" event lets you support a worthy cause while relaxing at home. The purchase of the ticket includes your choice of a DVD (e.g. Pay It Forward or Happy Feet) or the game "Yahtzee" as well as a package of microwave popcorn*. "Attendees" are encouraged to have a family night and stay home and enjoy the movie/game with their families. The DVD or game will be gift wrapped and ready for "gift giving".
*generously donated by Quality Foods.
